My experience with Palomino Crossing. Eviction Awareness.
Note: I published this column under my username '19Reggie85' on Newsbreak. I’m not writing this column to attack my former landlord. This is about eviction awareness, not criticizing property management (AZ 1st Realty). In fact, my former partner Illiana and I had a good time at Palomino Crossing Apartments for four years (2019-2023). I made some great friends there. The only issue was the roach-infested kitchen, despite multiple pesticide treatments. Illiana received SSI payments every month, so she always covered the rent. I worked for Uber/Lyft, which was my only source of income, so I often paid rent late, but we managed to maintain our housing for four years. July 2023 was the month that flipped our lives, both for good and bad. Illiana paid the rent on July 5th, but her portion wasn’t accounted for in the system.
